Nice to meet you

I’m Haley and I’m so happy to have you here.

I am an American writer living in Mexico City with my husband, our young twins, and our two cats.

On Substack I publish content relating to the creative process and overcoming barriers in everyday life to developing a strong, sustainable creative practice. I’m so passionate about these topics because for the longest time I couldn’t seem to get out of my own way. I’m committed to helping others to bring their own big projects to fruition and develop the tools to do it again.

In terms of education, I received my bachelor’s degree from Minnesota State University Moorhead in English and mass communications, and later earned my master’s in literature and creative writing from Harvard University. I am currently in the Author Accelerator program for book coaches. I am a big believer in being a constant student, so I’m always on the lookout for ways to sharpen my skills.

My current creative work, a memoir based on my solo motorcycle travels, tackles themes such as memory and identity creation, mental health, and ways to lead an examined life with the wind in your hair and the growl of a 1100cc engine in your ears.
